Blog Elul 2015/Prompt #1 Prepare

The month of Elul on the Hebrew calendar is the last month of the year and the one that leads up to the Jewish High Holidays of Rosh Hashanah. One of my colleagues is a Rabbi that organizes a prompt writing group online giving one per day to write about. This is from my archives during the 2015 prompt group

As someone that has ADHD, Dyslexia, Anxiety and unspecified depression being prepared is difficult for me. It has led to major problems in most of my life and hurt me in my custody battle.

I wasn’t prepared enough, not did I help my attorneys prepare enought to help me. I was ill prepared for as Prince said “this thing called life” I was strong for 44 months by focusing on my kids and the everyday.

We can’t always be prepared for life’s curveballs. We can be prepared by always taking care of mental and physical health. Listen to your professionals. If they aren’t helping you or you disagree with their plan/cause of action be prepared to take a different course of action.
