Blog Elul: Prompt 27: Bless

Bless

Are we blessed in our everyday life? When someone sneezes we say g-d bless you. When times are down we are told to count our blessings. When something good happens or we avoid something bad we feel blessed.

Blessings have a lot of significance in Judaism. There is a blessing for virtually everything. On Shabbat, we bless the candles, wine, and challah. We say the kaddish for loved ones that have passed, and recite many prayers and blessings on the high holidays.

Many of the blessings are the tents and core of Judaism.
