Stars remind me of life being simpler.
Without a smartphone, TV, computer or other distractions. People would sit on their porches at night and look at the stars.
I was fortunate enough to go to camp in Estes Park, Colorado. The camp was recently named the third-best overnight camp in the country. I went there the summers I was 11-16.
That was a much different time. We were not allowed TVs there. We were allowed radios. The focus was on nature. Daily we could play basketball outside and have activities on team building courses.
The camp was focused mainly on horseback riding, hiking, camping, and backpacking. The highlight once dinner was over and the sun went down was star gazing. The stars remind me to slow down and detach from our electronics and relax.
